Contents in brief
This is a growing digital repository of historic public publications focusing on urban planning and preservation in the City of Chicago. The objective of this project is digitizing and sharing these public documents for the sake of posterity, grouping them in one place so that they are convenient to locate and access by researchers at-large.
Documents that are currently available are navigable from the top of the screen and are text-searchable. They are best accessed via desktop or Android. This is an ever-growing repository after all, so please bear with me as I continuously update and improve this website.
These documents are intended for private study, scholarship, and research only. They are not intended for commercial use nor to generate revenue of any sort. They are public records, compliant with U.S. copyright law. Original copies can be found at these fine institutions, for example. Existing scans of these documents have been available to the public on the internet for quite some time, in the form of either snippets or low-quality scans, so I hope that this repository is helpful as an alternative resource.
Any supplemental information authored does not have any affiliation with public or private institutions, nor does it reflect their opinions, policies, or views. The public documents being shared are in compliance with U.S. copyright law and intended for private study, scholarship, and research. Author information is located within each document, please cite them accordingly. Finding aids for individual documents are available upon request.
